Log living room furniture is certainly the next logical step after the log bedroom furniture. I want to create a space using the rustic look of yesterday that meets and joins the basic contemporary world we live in. This means marrying the furniture with the electronics without making them seem like they are sticking out or out of place. Finding a style that allows me to do that was initially challenging because I was looking in all the wrong places. Once I found the log furniture that I have I can see exactly how the marriage of yesterday and today is supposed to happen.

The idea that I can create this style throughout the home while not having to turn my home into a place that today’s advancements aren’t welcome is rather exciting. It all can easily mesh and blend and I don’t have to hide the fact that I have a microwave or a computer.

I think that overall the basic blend between today and yesterday helps to keep me grounded in the idea that while progress is wonderful, there is something to be said for a simpler time. This is the balance that I seek throughout my entire house.

I believe that if you haven’t considered it for your own home it’s because you haven’t seen the styles that are available or the possibilities that exist. Most of us think of rustic as old, worn down, and some how not very elegant. I can certainly testify to the fact that these notions simply are not true.
