Tips for Making an Efficient Bathroom

When you need to get ready for work or for school in the morning, you may be rushing most of the time. One of the things that you have to do that takes a lot of time is showering. It is impossible for you not to take a shower but there are ways that can help you reduce the amount of time it takes for you to complete your shower.

Know your Schedule

If you have a big family and you are sharing a single bathroom, you should know the exact time when each member of your family needs to use the bathroom. Creating a schedule can help and everyone will benefit from it. Make a written schedule for everyone’s convenience. Also, knowing the exact times each person is allotted will make it fair to every member of the family. Likewise, there should be someone who is ready to make sacrifices. When you need to be out of the house at almost the same time, you shouldn’t debate over who will be taking a bath first. You may let the other person go first. Meanwhile, you can eat your breakfast and prepare everything that you need before you go. You will be able to use up your waiting time wisely.

If it is impractical to have several bathrooms, some homes will have bathrooms that are divided into a few areas. There will be a shower and bath area. The sink area should also be in a separate place for someone to brush or shave while another member of the family is taking a bath. Add partitions in between to have more privacy when using the bathroom.

Organize Fixtures and Furniture

In order to save time, you have to have all of the necessary bathroom fixtures. You should have shelves or hooks on the wall to store your towels. Also, cabinets and storage spaces are essential for your bath products. Arrange them with efficiency in mind. Avoid having to go from one point of the bathroom to another in order to obtain bath products. Place toiletries and other necessary products near the shower stall or the bathtub. Near the sink, you need to have your toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. The medicine cabinet should also be located somewhere near that point.

Behind your bathroom door, you may install hooks that can hold towels or your bathrobe. Sometimes, it might be easier of you have open door cabinets installed inside your bathroom. You can save yourself the extra time needed to open and close the cabinet doors. This can be a very small amount of time but it can be helpful cumulatively.

Multitask

Do one thing at a time. When you are brushing your teeth, you may also face the mirror and check out your face, skin and hair. Some will take this as a chance to comb their hair. Multitasking may also be applied to several members of the family using the bathroom at once. While someone is inside the shower stall, another person may be on the sink brushing his teeth or shaving.
